nellekeNelleke Hols: Founder and Initiator
In 2004 Nelleke went to Kenia for the first time. The country has never ceased to fascinate here since. In 2009 she decided to give something back to these warm people. She opened a rescue center for children. The next step was the initiation of the JUA Foundation.

peterPeter M. Mak: President/Chairman.
Peter M. Mak (56, Zoetermeer) chairman from the earliest stages as JUA just started, upon retirement in 2015 succeeded by Lisette van der Heiden, is reinstated chair as per September 2017 as enthusiastic as ever before.

Working with Dutch Highway Administration for over 34 years, the last couple of years as Sr. Advisor Road Safety he is also director, actor and chair of a drama-club. He met Nelleke thanks to his wife Joke who back in the days worked with her whilst studying Social Work.

MoniqueMonique van der Zijde: Secretary
Monique has been involved with the JUA-Foundation since it was first founded. She started as an ambassador, now she is a member of the board. The short lines of communication are the things she likes best about JUA. We can immediately see what is happening in Watamu and the good results that are being achieved for the young girls there.
She studied management and organizational sciences in Utrecht and she specialized in international cooperation. Now she works for the Dutch national football federation (KNVB) in the department of international social projects called WorldCoaches. This department commits itself to the development of children and coaches in more than 30 countries by means of football.
